Ingredients
- 4 cups fresh blackberries
- ¾ cup white sugar, divided
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 (9-inch) double-crust ready-to-use pie crust
- 2 tablespoons milk
Directions:
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
Step 2: Combine 3 1/2 cups blackberries with 1/2 cup sugar and flour in a large bowl. Spoon the mixture into the unbaked pie crust. Spread the remaining 1/2 cup of berries over the sweetened berries and cover with the top crust. Seal the edges and cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
Step 3: Brush the top crust with milk and sprinkle with the remaining 1/4 cup sugar.
Step 4: Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce the oven temperature to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and bake for another 20 to 25 minutes, until the filling is bubbling and the crust is golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.
