Authentic Goulash Recipe to Make at Home
Goulash is one of Hungary’s national dishes and it doubles up as the ultimate choice when it comes to warming comfort food. This meat stew is packed full of vegetables and flavor, most characterized by its heavy paprika seasoning.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 2 cups beef stock
- 1 cup uncooked elbow macaroni
Instructions:
Step-1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until evenly browned.
Step-2. Add the diced onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Step-3. Add the diced bell pepper, paprika, oregano, basil, and cumin. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
Step-4. Add the diced tomatoes, beef stock, and macaroni. Stir to combine.
Step-5. Bring the mixture to a boil and reduce heat to low. Simmer, covered, for 20 minutes or until the macaroni is tender.
