 Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup Irish cream liqueur
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the frosting:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup Irish cream liqueur

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the Irish cream.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Mix until well combined. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. To make the frosting, beat the butter and powdered sugar together until well combined. Add the Irish cream and beat until smooth.
  8. Spread the frosting over the top and sides of the cooled cakes.
  9. Serve the cake and enjoy!
