Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 ½ cups white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
Directions
Step 1:Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Step 2:In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder and baking soda.
Step 3:In a large bowl, beat sugar and butter with an electric mixer until smooth. Stir in egg and vanilla. Gradually stir in flour mixture. Shape dough into walnut-sized balls and place 5 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
Step 4:Bake in preheated oven until edges are golden, 8 to 10 minutes. Cool briefly on the baking sheets before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
